The Best Time To Cruise Is... - Emma Cruises Weekly Newsletter

Many people assume that the best time to cruise is the peak season. It must be popular for a reason right? I disagree! 😉😂

For me, the best time to cruise is during what is called the shoulder season. These are the months before or after the peak time, and they are often much much cheaper. 🌎🚢

The peak season is often just the peak just because it's during the school holidays. If you're lucky enough to be like me and you don't have to worry about those I'd always suggest looking at the shoulders. 😂😂

It's not just a good way to save money. It can also mean that the ports are quieter and the weather is usually milder. ☀️😁

I took a cruise to Alaska in April, which is at the very start of the season. I am SO glad that I visited then instead of in the peak of summer. In summer, the ports get much busier, and the weather at this time of year suited me nicely. 🐻😀

Sharing a cruise cabin sounds easy enough… until two people are trying to live together in one small space for a week.

Cruise cabins are compact, storage is limited, and there’s usually only one small bathroom.

5 Cruise Cabin Arguments You Can Easily Avoid

This week, my latest cruise maps arrived for my wall!! I always love it when more cruise maps arrive Not just because they’re beautiful but because it gives me a great reason to talk about my past cruises… Every map here is one where something quirky happened with the itinerary. 😂❤️

Most cruise ships are far too big to sail under Tower Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in London.

I work in London regularly and never expect to see a cruise ship on the Thames.

The Cruise Ships Small Enough To Sail Under Tower Bridge

Both Windstar and Viking are often grouped together as “luxury cruises,” but they actually offer very different experiences.

Windstar Vs Viking Cruises: Which Luxury Cruise Line Is Better?

Cruises can feel unfamiliar, so people often panic and bring a huge number of “just in case” items that are already provided onboard.

Don’t Waste Space Packing These 5 Cruise Items

LIVESTREAM SCHEDULE:

  • Friday 19th June (5pm UK, 12pm Eastern)

Windstar Cruises can be confusing because it’s often described as “all-inclusive”, even though not everything is included in the standard, base fare.

For almost 10 years, I’ve been sharing my cruises with you on the internet with just one aim: to help you decide which cruises are for you and which definitely aren’t. 👀🚢 I've answered thousands of questions in that time, but there’s always been one question I’ve never had a really good answer to: “Emma, who should I book my cruise with?” 🤔🚢 I'm so happy to say that I finally have the answer! I've launched my own agency and you can now book your cruises through me and my team at The Cruise...

ad • Hey hey! I've just disembarked a veeeery warm (but fantastic) week in the Mediterranean onboard Norwegian Epic! 🔥🛳️ Epic is completely unique and she was the ship where Norwegian tried new things. Some of them they did again, and some they never did (like the quirky bathroom layout). 😂⚓️ She is definitely the most divisive cruise ship out there, some people love her and others love to hate her. I cruised on her way back in 2015, before I ever considered talking about cruises online, so I...

A couple of days ago, I took a cruise that went UNDER TOWER BRIDGE in central London! Yep, you heard me right, the bridge opened up and we sailed out late at night. 🤯⚓️ I love London so this was a dream come true and something I'll never forget. The ship was Windstar's Star Pride and she holds a maximum of 312 guests. She's a tiny little ship compared to the ships I usually sail on. 🌊😇 I say she's tiny and she is, but she used to be even smaller. The ship was cut in half and a brand new...
