Hey hey hey!! I'm SO excited to finally share with you a top-secret project that's been two years in the making: Captain Hudson's Brilliant Cruises, a book series! Available now on Amazon! 📚🎉

If you've been watching my videos for a while, you've probably come across our mascot, Captain Hudson, inspired by my real-life cat who often joins my YouTube live streams. He's now the star of his very own collection of books, which is so so exciting (and a little scary). 🐾📖

The journey to bring these books to life has been a long one, with a few twists and turns along the way. It all started in 2021 when I met Jerome, an author researching cruising aboard the Queen Mary 2. He suggested turning Captain Hudson into a book series, something I initially dismissed but never forgot about. ⛴️💡

A little over a year ago, we decided to create Captain Hudson toys, which not only has been a lot of fun but they've also raised a staggering £104,000 (and counting) for the charity Mercy Ships. Seeing the adventures he was going on gave me the confidence to pursue the book idea further. 🙌💸

The feedback we got from publishers was that they doubted there was a crossover between kids and cruising?! Which is bonkers to me as MILLIONS of children cruise per year. 🌍🚸

​Jerome and I decided to take matters into our own hands and self-publish. We've poured our hearts into crafting a series that's fun, educational, and full of the spirit of adventure that Captain Hudson has. From his origin story to his Alaskan escapades and a kid-friendly guide to cruising, these books are perfect for young cruise enthusiasts aged 8 and up (though we think adults will love them too!). 😉🚢

It was tricky to find the perfect illustrator to bring Captain Hudson to life, but after working with 32 different artists, we've found a style that captures his cool, calm, and kind personality perfectly. I hope you'll agree, he's very cute! Colouring books will be following soon... 🎨🖍️

We're taking a big risk by self-publishing these books, but we believe in the power of Captain Hudson and his adventures. We've had SO much fun writing these.
